- Installation is quick and easy with a battery-operated wireless system and no hardwiring required

- For safety, replace the ferrule when it has become worn to avoid the door holder releasing unexpectedly. Ferrules are sold separately search for ‘spare ferrule’ on our website
- 3 year expected battery life
- Daily timed-release feature
- Works with heavy fire doors up to 160kg & 1600mm width
- At end-of-life cycle, Dorgard SmartSound units can be fully recycled (excluding casing) with original manufacturer
- Please note - may not be compatible with mechanical bells

Really easy to fit and works well
Didn’t need to drill into the door. Screws went in easily to the wooden doors and responded quickly to the fire alarm.

Very useful for busy passageways
We run a guest house and have been using Dorgard for years, with this purchase being a replacement for one which has lasted for 12 years before deciding to pack up. They are a means of keeping up with fire regulations allowing a door to stay open most of the time but closes with the sound of the alarm going off. The basic version has the problem of closing at any loud sound from vacuum cleaners to hearty singing, and the Smartsound version reduces (but doesn't totally eliminate this). It is important, it seems, that the first sound it hears is the alarm, so set it off as soon as it is installed. It is recommended that doors are closed anyway at night or at other times when people are not around. To close them, you are allowed to "kick the door" or at least the knob on the top. The batteries do need changing fairly frequently; you get a very persistent sound telling you to do it!

Great for schools
I have brought the normal dorgard for our school but when you have a lot of children singing , dancing or playing sports in the halls the react to quickly. smartsound are much more children friendly for us anyway!
