Only occasionally rings when pressed, was fitted by a qualified electrician who couldn’t figure out why it doesn’t always work

Not a ringer!
I bought a Plain Edge Period Bell Push. It looked good felt good but simply did not work! A bell push that fails to make electrical contact when pushed is as useful as a chocolate teapot
