TIMCO Bolt Down Fence Post Shoe - Bolt Secure - 100 x 100mm - Galvanised

If the shoe fits………..

The product itself is well made, robust and would probably serve its purpose extremely well but for the fact that I just cannot seem to source 100mm x 100mm posts anywhere locally. Everywhere I tried has the metric equivalent which works out at 95mm x95mm and creates a small gap all round the inside of the post shoe which requires packing out to insure a tight fit. It is for this reason I have only awarded 4 stars.

Slightly disappointed

M10 bolts don't fit through the holes as stated in the specs,had to use M8 instead.Contacted the supplier but had no reply still. Disappointed the thickness of the shoe itself wasn't thicker to create a much more stable end result, luckily one side is adjoining a block wall otherwise i wouldn't have used them.

Brilliant quality and price. Looks great and don’t stand out like the others that rust, worth paying a little more for galvanised and less work in the long run

OK for the price, but could be better made

Bought for a pergola I'm making and glad that I already decided to spray these as they were very rough. Lots of spitting all over from the sub par welding. They will hold, but the welds are quite poor. Had to grind them down, re galvanize and finish spray these. The bolts supplied looked quite old (lock nut nylons were corroded - again, was going to replace these anyway) Pictures below show the product before and after finishing. Lot of work with many stages, but worth the time and effort. (Silver hot dipped is starting point, yellow is intermediate primer stage (after galvanizing) and grey / blue is finish stage)

Exactly as described and what I was looking for. Solid strong and easy to fit. Durability is key as they will have to last so quality all important
