Spot On !

Purchased to lay new deck I have used standard deck screw for my previous deck and although they were specific deck screws , they were absolutely useless ( poor bite in the wood and as soon as you use impact driver the heads would start to round off ) I decided when laying my new deck that I wanted Stainless Steel specific screws . I first seen this type of screw in my local Wurth store but @ nearly £60 for 150 I just about peed myself ! Anyway I search Google for Stainless Steel deck screws and came across loads of companies selling Spax decking screws , I decided on Ironmongery direct for the following reasons . 1 - slightly less expensive than other selling 2 - Got 80mm length others were max 70mm length 3 - Free next day delivery Ordered twice as I didn’t order enough first time round . What I also love about these screws apart from being Stainless Steel is that the head screws perfectly into the groove unlike traditional screws that overlap the groove , although this time I have fitted my deck boards groove down as they are manufactured and designed to lay this way ( everyone in UK seem to lay them groove up as I did with my original deck , but have been informed by a few companies including old faithful Google That the correct way is groove down ) Now when using impact driver take care not to drive and sink the screw head into the wood ! Just drive it so that we he screw just sits flush with the wood and all in line ! It looks amazing well done Spax for creating a great screw and ironmongery direct for great service ! Will definitely use again and recommend.
