Zipbolt QT11 600 Full Mitre Stair Handrail Connector - 8 x 135mm

A brilliant piece of kit

Bought 4 of them to pull tight the mitred joints on a 100mm 100mm frame that surrounds a porcelain bar top. Hope they do the job, we will see.

Works but tricky to align

If your a little off with your marking out or drilling it doesn’t align, if your accurate it’s spot on (took me 2 attempts), used other zip bolt systems and they are excellent

Job done

I used the mitre handrail connector for my new landing bannister. I was able to fit the connector before final assembly which probably made lining up the connector to the screw a little easier. Although the mitre connector does not come with instructions they can be downloaded from Ironmongery Directs website. After drilling the holes, I applied glue to the joint and then tightened up the connectors. If it is slightly out of alignment you can slacken off one gearhead and tighten the other up and this should pull the joint back into line. Once dry I used 2 Zipbolt straight connectors to fix the handrail at either end. Really pleased with the end result and no worries about the handrail giving way.

Very hard to use

Struggled to get patented nuts on ,came with no instructions .not as I expected .
