Olde Forge Tudor Plain Door Tee Hinge - 229 x 85mm - Antique Black Iron - Pair

Good appearance, poorer quality.

While quite solid and good looking, the hinge flap and strap did not line up very well on 2 of the 4 hinges I bought - hence the door was not perfectly aligned with the frame after hanging. The strap only has two hinge holes, not the three in the illustration. What really gets me is the disastrous quality of the screws provided, specifically, the slots. As luck would have it, the first two screws drove in very well and I thought what a nice change. All the rest had much shallower slots, with slight variation in slot width. These were tricky to drive, even by hand. How much would it cost the manufacturer to provide good quality screws? Maybe a few pence.

The photograph of the hinge shown on the web site is not accurate, I purchased 6 sets of the 229mm length for a client who chose them as they are shown to have 3 fixing holes along the arm and they only have 2 which has caused additional work in having to return them and source others else where.
