About this product
- Simple cast wrought iron ring latch set
- The inside and outside rings are connected by a standard spindle to ensure safe operation from either side of the door
- The bar length indicates the length of the latch bar and consequently the distance the ring would be set back from the door edge and frame. It is possible to cut the latch bar to achieve a different backset, however you would then need to repaint the cut end
- Designed for interior doors
- Regular maintenance with household wax polish is required to prevent rusting, search for 'maintenance wax'

A Solid Closure Device
Needed a new Catch / Closure device for the rear entrance to our property. The choice of supplier was obvious to us as we'd used Ironmongery Direct before. The 'Olde Forge Cottage Style' suited our needs, now fitted and looking so good. It is a solid 'closure device', feels robust which is what we wanted. One little hick-up had been in its assembly, where the latch / inside unit had not been fully assembled. I contacted Claire in Customer Services where all was sorted. A great looking device, built to last. We will always use Ironmongery Direct.

a bit dissapointing (twice)
This was the second one of these I have ordered, the first one snapped very quickly. It also rusted in the moving parts and screws after about 3 months,The second I ordered as a replacement and found that the spindle hole was too small to fit the spindle and also the angle the the latch operated at was slanted meaning that the other pieces could not possibly line up. I have Given up with this product now as clearly it is not worth the extra money, Ironmongery direct are fab though! very efficient.
