• This is a budget range of blacksmith made ironmongery for use on light weight timber joinery, and general low cost applications
• This range looks authentic but isn't intended for heavy joinery or high use applications. For heavier duty projects choose Olde Forge which is heavier with finer detail
• Blacksmith range hinges will need regular maintenance, particularly if used externally, to prevent rusting. You may of course choose to allow the products to rust for the authentic unkempt appearance; although this can cause staining to timber, particularly oak woodwork. To keep original condition wash occasionally with warm soapy water, rinse and finish preferably with beeswax but alternatively with a light application of furniture wax. Periodically items, particularly moving joints, will benefit from a light oiling or alternatively rub the complete product over with an oily cloth and finish with a soft cloth
