Off-cuts can be re-used as weights or make weights. The 0.45kg make weight suits round or square weights. As the name suggests, these sash lifts allow for all five fingers (or four fingers and thumb) to be used when lifting the sash. Particularly useful for those sash windows with a temperamental nature.

London Pattern Screw Down Sash Fastener

The Acorn sash stop fits into the side rail of the upper sash and is cut in flush, the Acorn on its chain is attached to the top of the lower sash and is retained there when not in use. When the Acorn is screwed into its plate it will act as a stop, therefore allowing the sashes to be secured open in the ventilated position.
The sash screw passes through the centre rail where the sashes meet; therefore locking them, as no vertical movement can then be achieved.
