Are You Fitting Fire Doors?
Although it is not a legal requirement for hardware fitted to fire resisting doors to be CE marked it is desirable that they be so marked. This ensures, in the case of any legal claim, that the best quality hardware has been fitted.
The hinges we have marked on this page as suitable for fire doors are all tested and accredited.
Important: When the hinges shown as being CE Marked are included in a fire resisting test they are fitted to the door and frame with intumescent pads under each leaf. You should fit these intumescent pads under any CE Marked hinges to comply with the marking requirements.
Failure to comply and fit intumescent pads in these circumstances will negate the installation.
Fitting: fit one pad under each hinge leaf for FD30 & two under each leaf for FD60.
