Altro Projection Door Stops
Product Description
Correct specification of a door stop is vital if you want to prolong the life of a door closer or just stop the movement of the door from wrenching the door frame within it's wall setting.
As a general rule of thumb you should fit the door stop as far from the hinged point as possible, this stops too much leverage causing hinges to rip from the frame.
When selecting a floor mounted type or a wall mounted model there are a few things to consider. Projecting stops work well and allow for the floor to be kept clear of obstacles for easy cleaning with vacuum cleaners or polishers, but are frequently knocked off by collision with these machines. Floor mounted are best fitted in any public building, particularly schools, where there is a tendency for projecting stops to be stood on and wrenched from the wall.
