The Union 8899 door closer is a hold open or free swing unit all in one which operates under electromagnetic control. In the event of a fire, the fire alarm cuts the power to the electromagnetic device and the door is reliably closed by the integral hydraulic closer.This closer is a perfect choice to prevent fire doors being held open illegally by fire extinguishers; a life threatening problem commonly found in schools and hospitals.
