When a bolt is used at the bottom of a door the moving part of the bolt, the chute, needs a socket in the floor to retain it. There are three options:

• Easy Clean Sockets. These are simple sockets that are set onto the floor and have a curved recess to allow the socket to be swept clean of any dirt, dust or debris that will collect
• Sprung Sockets For Wooden Floor. The flange of these sockets simply screws to the floor, normally recessed flush. The central sprung flap depresses under the weight of the lowering bolt, the flap springs back up when the bolt is released, therefore dust is always kept out of the socket
• Sprung Sockets For Concrete Floor. Exactly the same principle as the wooded floor type but without the screw down flange, the socket is simply set flush into the concrete
