PVC seals 'can make homes green and cut costs'

Posted on 29 August 2008

PVC seals This week, property experts claimed that use of energy-efficient products such as PVC seals can help homeowners rent and sell houses more easily.

Research carried out by the Energy Saving Trust indicated buyers are willing to pay out on average £3,350 more for a green home.

Philip Sellwood, chief executive of the trust, said ensuring a home is as energy efficient as possible is an effective way to keep energy bills down in the long term.

"In the current economic climate, it makes sense to ensure that the running costs of the home you are living in or buying are as low as possible," he added.

Peter Bolton King, chief executive of the National Association of Estate Agents said that tenants are also likely to be attracted to energy-efficient homes as they could see immediate savings on their gas bills if they pay close attention to energy ratings.
