Cabinet refurbishments 'add value to homes'

Simple improvements to bathrooms or kitchens can improve the value of homes, it has been claimed.
Kathy Presciano, a specialist at GE Lighting, said quick and effective modifications are often the best way for busy people to add to the price of their property.
"Quick, budget-conscious fixes in the kitchen include new cabinet hardware, a new layer of paint and new curtains. Often simple solutions provide a big impact," she added.
Ms Presciano went on to recommend tips such as using light-coloured cabinets, ceiling and floor surfaces to maximise reflected light and hanging fixtures over eating areas to separate them from work areas in the kitchen.
Earlier this month, real estate expert Kirsten Kemp Becker told broadcaster TLC that it is important for people trying to sell or refinance properties to set their homes apart from the rest of the market.
She recommended installing new cabinet hardware and bathroom accessories to make properties more saleable.
