Sealmaster BDA/BDB/BDWB Exterior Threshold Seal

Sealmaster BDA/BDB/BDWB Exterior Threshold Seal Image

The threshold section is in two separate parts to facilitate fixing. The rear section, BDB, extends from the frame and is fitted tightly against the back of the stops. It acts as a barrier across the threshold, making a conventional water bar unnecessary.Any small amount of water which gets past the seal is caught by the trough. The holder BDWB (BD Weather Board) is screwed to the front of the door through oversize holes which permit fine sealing adjustment. It contains two blades, a storm seal, BDD, at the front which seals on the BDA, and the main seal, BDC, which seals on the inside of the trough BDB when the door is closed. BDWB also forms a rain water deflector.

Sealmaster BDA/BDB/TTM Threshold Seal for Outward Opening Doors

Sealmaster BDA/BDB/TTM Threshold Seal for Outward Opening Doors Image

The adaptability of the Sealmaster range of seals is illustrated by this threshold seal for outward opening doors. When the threshold sill is designed to form a stop on the interior side, draught and weather sealing rarely offer any difficulties. But where the threshold is flat, as is often the case in corridors leading to the outside of a building, where access without impediment is required, there can be a problem. The solution shown here makes use of the BD threshold strips and the TTM seal.
